The Off-Grid Adventure Camps begins from the minute you’re greeted at the gate of the Farm Park . With one of our trusted Team Leaders making everyone feel welcome and leading fun activities right from the onset, you’ll start building new friendships and have a blast right from the start!
Backed by the trusted Ennor Family of Scallywaggs Early Childhood Education Centres, with over 36 years of experience on their 4th-generation farm, we’ve crafted two unique camp experiences that you’ll never forget.
The camp is an enriching, holistic experience and every day is packed with a mixture of fun activities, physical challenges, mental stimulation and opportunities to connect with nature and form friendships with others in the group. There are endless opportunities for personal growth and our highly trained camp leaders are here to make sure you’re safe, well-nourished, and fully engaged in the adventure.
Worried about unplugging? Don’t be!
Going off-grid doesn’t mean roughing it with cold showers or boring food. With nutritious and tasty meals prepared by a chef, with over 30 exciting activities that the children will get to experience and expert instructors coming in to teach specialty areas, this is more than just your average holiday camp.
Off-Grid Adventure Camps is your chance to connect with nature, build lifelong friendships, and grow both mentally and physically. Don’t just watch life happen - live it! Whether it’s making memories under the stars, learning new skills, or simply enjoying the beautiful Hawke’s Bay rural setting, this camp offers a priceless experience that will stay with you forever.
Awesome activities
Try zooming 95m down a hill on our fabulous flying fox, sliding down our 70m long water slide or climbing your way through our obstacle course. Challenge yourself with the Archery and Paintball target shooting, give Axe-throwing a go (in a safe environment), or take a swing at our Golf Challenge.
Explore the farm and forest in teams while learning to navigate and follow maps and clues, in our fun orienteering challenges and treasure hunts. Enjoy kayaking, raft building and other water activities and games such as Capture the Flag and Gaga Ball.
Experience the stars under the vast night-sky and in the beautiful natural surroundings, as you learn to set up camp, cook over a camp stove and enjoy music around a campsite. Enjoy beautiful walks and bike rides, with amazing scenery and even a secret waterfall!
With over 32 km’s of mountain bike trails (grades 1 to 4), a BMX pump track and a jumps park, there’s something for everyone. We will even get an expert bike coach in to give you some lessons and tips.
Enjoy the animals and farm-based activities, where you’ll experience and learn first-hand what goes on in a farm. Have you ever tried human sheep herding? It’s harder than you think, but quite a lot of fun. You may even get a ride in our Can-am off-road buggy!
There will be team building activities, fun group games and creative workshops as well as time to relax and enjoy the fantastic facilities and surroundings with your new-found friends. This will be the experience of a life-time!

The Venue
Off-Grid Adventure Camps are based at Ranui Farm Park, nestled in the scenic Central Hawke’s Bay countryside.
Ranui Farm Park is an adventure park, a mountain bike park and a working sheep and beef farm. With an amazing range of facilities, activities and accommodation options, it is the perfect location for our Off-grid Adventure Camps.
Accommodation for the campers will be a choice of spacious tents or large dormitories. Boys and girls will sleep in separate areas and the Team Leader and instructors will be onsite every night making sure everyone is happy. There are separate boys and girls toilets and hot showers.
Our campers can just relax and enjoy the nutritious food and snack, and focus on having a great time.
This amazing experience is for children aged 9 - 13 years (school years 5 - 8).
Camp details
We maintain small group sizes to ensure personalised attention and individualised support for each child. With a low camper-to-staff ratio, children receive ample opportunities for mentorship, guidance, and supervision from experienced instructors. This intimate setting fosters a sense of belonging and community among participants, creating a supportive and nurturing environment for learning and growth.
The Scallywaggs Charitable Trust has a deep commitment to providing high-quality, authentic experiences for children and families. Unlike larger, corporate-run programs, we offer a personalised experience and genuine hospitality that resonates with families seeking a more intimate and authentic holiday experience.
The price for the 6 days camp (5 nights) is $990 (incl GST) and includes all meals, accommodation and activities. You will need to drop off your children at the start of the camp and pick them up at the end. There will be a 10% discount for families sending 2 or more children.
The campers will receive a journal that they can write in throughout the camp, recording what they’ve done and what they’ve learnt, giving them a great memoir of the camp and something to share with their family once home.
